A review of Dr. Peter J Williams’ new book.

I have long been an admirer of the scholarship and wit of Peter Williams. Both are fully displayed in his latest little book, The Surprising Genius of Jesus (which is a 2023 publication by Crossway).

Dr. Williams is a renowned scholar and theologian, specializing in biblical studies and ancient languages. He is also the Principal and CEO of Tyndale House, Cambridge, a research institute dedicated to biblical studies. In addition, he chairs the International Greek New Testament Project and is a member of the ESV Translation Oversight Committee. Dr. Williams writes on a popular level so that his books, although scholarly and knowledgeable, are also accessible and clear.
