What Happens When We Read the Bible?

You can read it yourself, follow along, or just listen.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105

We have learned that the Bible is special.

We learned that God used people to write it.
That it told the future before it happened.
That God protected it so we could read it today.

But there is one more important question.

What happens when we actually read the Bible?

The answer is simple and amazing.

God speaks to us.

Not with a loud voice.
Not with thunder in the sky.

But through His Word.

When we read the Bible, God helps us understand who He is.

We learn that He is loving.
That He is patient.
That He is just.
That He forgives.

We also learn who we are.

That we matter.
That we are created on purpose.
That we are not alone.
That God cares deeply about our lives.

The Bible helps guide our choices.

Life can be confusing.

Sometimes we do not know what the right thing is.

The Bible helps us see clearly.

It teaches us how to love others.
How to tell the truth.
How to forgive.
How to trust God when things are hard.

It does not answer every question about life.

But it always points us in the right direction.

The Bible brings comfort and hope.

When people feel afraid, God’s Word brings peace.

When people feel sad, Scripture brings comfort.

When people feel lost, the Bible reminds them that God is near.

That is why the Bible has helped people for thousands of years.

It does not change hearts by magic.

It changes hearts because God works through it.

The Bible helps us grow.

Just like food helps our bodies grow, God’s Word helps our faith grow.

The more we read it, the more we understand God.

The more we understand God, the more we learn to trust Him.

The Bible is not meant to sit on a shelf.

It is meant to be opened.

It is not meant to be rushed.

It is meant to be read little by little.

God is not looking for perfect readers.

He is looking for willing hearts.

So what happens when we read the Bible?

We learn truth.
We grow in faith.
We understand God better.
And we walk closer with Him.

That is why the Bible is God’s Word.

Not just to be known.

But to be lived.
