Why Dinosaurs Point to God

“The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.”
Psalm 24:1

Dinosaurs are amazing.

They were huge.
They were powerful.
Some had horns.
Some had armor.
Some had teeth as big as bananas.

When Bible Explorers learn about dinosaurs, it often leads to a big question.

What do dinosaurs have to do with God?

Some people think dinosaurs make belief in God harder.

But dinosaurs actually point us toward God.

Dinosaurs show design.

Dinosaurs were not simple creatures.

They had strong bones.
Complex muscles.
Sharp senses.
Carefully balanced bodies.

Everything worked together so they could move, eat, and survive.

Design like that does not happen by accident.

Just like a bicycle has many parts working together, dinosaurs had systems that worked together.

Design points to a designer.

Dinosaurs show creativity.

No two dinosaurs were exactly the same.

Some were small.
Some were massive.
Some walked on two legs.
Some on four.

This shows imagination and creativity.

God is not boring.

The variety of creatures in the world shows a Creator who enjoys making amazing things.

Dinosaurs show power.

Creatures that large remind us that the Creator of the world is powerful.

If something so enormous could exist, then the One who made it must be even greater.

Dinosaurs remind us that God’s creation is bigger than us.

That helps us stay humble.

Dinosaurs show that the world is real history.

Dinosaurs were not made up stories.

We find their bones.

We study them.

They lived in the real world.

That reminds us that the Bible speaks about a real creation, not a fairy tale.

The Bible tells us God created animals of every kind.

Dinosaurs fit into that truth.

They are part of God’s amazing world.

Dinosaurs do not push God away.

They point toward Him.

They remind us that creation is full of wonder.

And wonder often leads us to worship.

When Bible Explorers learn about dinosaurs, we are not just learning about the past.

We are learning about the greatness of the God who made the world.

Think About It

• What do dinosaurs teach us about God’s creativity?

• Why does design usually point to a designer?

• How do huge creatures remind us of God’s power?

• Why is it important that dinosaurs were real animals?

• How can learning about creation help us praise God?
